Dr. Diana Visentin has been practicing Internal Medicine since 1995. She specializes in general cardiac care, risk factor management, diabetes, obesity and lifestyle medicine. She has the expertise in caring for all the various systems in a patient, being known as "the doctor's doctor". She has personally supervised over 10,000 exercise stress tests and developed the S.A.F.E. © Testing method, assessing the patient comprehensively during exercise.
Since her arrival in Barrie in 1999, she has held various positions at Royal Victoria Hospital, including Medical Program Director, Ward Internist, Stroke Call Physician, Stroke Clinic Physician and lead physician in the Pacemaker Clinic for 14 years. She also holds an affiliation with the Family Health Team Assisted Devices Program, and specializes in Diabetic Care. In recent years, Dr. Visentin's practice has evolved into an Integrated Health Care model, incorporating both conventional and complementary medicine.
Dr. McClelland is a clinical cardiologist associated with South Simcoe Cardiac Services with a special interest in echocardiography. We have performed over 6000 studies at the clinic since opening in 2011. As the consulting cardiologist, Dr. McClelland sees patients with advanced cardiac needs beyond the scope of Internal Medicine, such as the very elderly with high risk cardiac problems or the young adult.
He presently has a cardiology practice in Barrie with an office on Bell Farm Road. He has special interest in ischemic heart disease, congestive heart failure and valvular heart disease.
Dr. Verhaeghe joined our team with her unique gifts. While she trained as a family physician, her career since beginning her practice has focused on hospital medicine, palliative care, caring for the elderly and mental health.
Her primary role at this office is that of Medical Psychotherapy. OHIP covered consultation and counseling is provided which address the “Mind-Body” connection. Her previous career as a clinical social worker combined with extensive medical experience allows her to unravel complex medical symptoms that involve a mental health component.
